Windows Update Gets Faster?

Ars Technica has a good explanation of what is being done to improve the Windows update “experience.” Lately, the utility that installs updates has been, shall we say, uncompromisingly distressing. Especially after the Fall Creators Update.

Basically, they’re slowing down and expanding the part that happens in the background in order to shrink, and, potentially, speed up what happens during the time when Windows takes control of your computer and starts updating and shutting down while you yell and curse.

No word yet on how many computers this will destroy when it is rolled out this spring.
